Cyclops have high nutritional value for wild fish. Their larvae are a primary and irreplaceable first food for the fry of many fish species living in still or slow-moving waters. Due to their high content of protein, fats and carotenoids, cyclops clearly stimulate growth and colouration in fish. They are an excellent food for all carnivorous, predatory and omnivorous fish, as well as for shrimp and crabs. Cyclops contain many vitamins, colour-enhancing substances and antioxidants, as well as unsaturated fatty acids. Because this is a natural, unprocessed food, fish eat it eagerly, and together with other natural foods it is a very desirable, healthy option for proper growth and for providing a wide spectrum of nutrients, just like in nature.
Buying safely: always view the animal in person before agreeing to buy, and be wary of any seller who pressures you to decide quickly or asks for a deposit before you have seen it. Read our full Buyer & Seller Safety guidance.
Use: suitable for most aquarium fish for fry and smaller fish component of plankton-based diets has very strong colour-enhancing properties Freeze-drying: The freeze-drying process consists of freezing (drying) the food at very low temperatures and then placing it in a vacuum, where sublimation occurs (ice turns directly into water vapour). The resulting product retains its flavour, aroma and nutritional value, while being very light (economical). Freeze-dried foods can be soaked before feeding in vitamin or medication solutions and in this way administered to the fish.
