How a bird is collected or transported matters for its welfare, whether you’re buying, selling, or rehoming.
For buyers collecting a bird
- Bring a secure, ventilated carrier sized appropriately for the species – not just a cardboard box.
- Avoid extreme temperatures – a car left in direct sun or a cold garage is genuinely dangerous for a bird in transit.
- Keep the journey as short and calm as reasonably possible.
For sellers arranging collection or delivery
- Ordinary postal delivery of live animals is not permitted on The Aviary Hub – collection or a genuine specialist live-animal courier only.
- Be clear about collection arrangements in your advert before a buyer travels.
