FULL DESCRIPTION Fluval Plant & Shrimp Stratum is a premium volcanic soil aquarium substrate formulated for freshwater planted aquariums and shrimp tanks. The porous, lightweight granules help plants establish quickly by allowing roots to spread easily through the substrate. The structure also provides a large surface area that supports beneficial nitrifying bacteria within the aquarium system. WATER PARAMETERS NOTE Fluval Stratum is intended to support a neutral to slightly acidic pH environment and may help reduce carbonate hardness (KH), depending on your source water and buffering capacity. Fluval does not specify an exact pH reduction. For best results, monitor pH and KH with reliable test kits, especially in new setups and shrimp-focused tanks.
