The leaves are used in aquariums because of their tannin content. Contain phytonutrients such as lignans, isoflavones and saponins. They are known for their antibacterial and antifungal properties. When placed in an aquarium, they stimulate spawning, reduce stress and improve natural coloration. They are perfect as a natural food for miniature shrimps. The leaves cause a slight decrease in PH, acidification of the water and its disinfection. Usage method The leaves can be thrown directly into the aquarium and they will last longer. If we scald them with a little boiling water beforehand, they will release tannins faster, and animals and bacteria will feed on them faster. Leaves packed loose, naturally they can be of different sizes and colors.
Buying safely: always view the animal in person before agreeing to buy, and be wary of any seller who pressures you to decide quickly or asks for a deposit before you have seen it. Read our full Buyer & Seller Safety guidance.
